Guide to the California Institute of the Arts Photographic Materials Collection 1964-1993 bulk 1970-1980.

This collection is comprised of photographic images documenting the history of CalArts from 1964-1993. The earliest images are those of the Mary Poppins Premiere fundraiser for CalArts with Lulu May Von Hagen and Walt Disney in 1964. Other early photographs show CalArts from its architectural design phase through groundbreaking and construction. The bulk of the photographs are from 1970-1980 and focus on people such as faculty, students, and visiting artists, as well as activities and events at CalArts. The collection is organized by the three formats found in the collection: Negatives, contact sheets, and prints. The negatives are arranged primarily by year and secondarily by accession number and can be cross-referenced with the contact sheets which are arranged by accession number. Prints are arranged alphabetically by subject.
